Mighty nice of them to provide a picture so we know what not to buy

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (WVLA) — Almost four months after the announcement that Aunt Jemima products would be rebranded as “Pearl Milling Company,” the new-look products are finally hitting store shelves across the United States.

  1. Well, I didn't know that. PEARL stands for "Prosperity, Empowerment, Access, Representation and Leadership.

And here I thought it stood for Puritanical Eunuchs And Racist Losers.

  3. If only this change would have been made earlier my five adult sons would not have turned into flaming redneck right wing terrorist racists after all those hundreds of pounds of pancakes with syrup.

  4. I didn't buy it before the big hoopla and I'm damn sure not going to buy it now. Always made my pancakes from scratch. Why buy a specialty product when I have a sack of flour and a can of baking powder already setting there on the shelf of my pantry?

    1. Exactly. The scratch ones taste better IMHO. Nemo

  5. Awww crap. Bring back the fat black lady with the humongous smile. It always made my day and when I spread the syrup on it was bound to be good. Just looking at the new label tells me I'd be better of just having mushy corn flakes.

  7. It's just too darn easy to avoid these kinds of pukes. These guys, coke, goodyear, gilette, panera, etc. All gone bye bye from the list of some company I might open my wallet for.

  8. Who is in favor of purging successful black business people from society?

  9. Who cares, I don't use their shit anyway.
Oh and I went ahead and took the survey and voted no to their bullshit gun violence hype, you're welcome

    1. I guaran-fucking-tee that this will not last. Some "woke" will insist that pearls are white and force them to change their name again. Crazy world!

  11. Well, there's not cultural appropriation there. Let's just name the product after an old English name.

  12. "Black People's Pancake Mix". Flat out stating that they are aiming at no one but black girls- see the pledge.

    I don't buy off brands I don't recognize.

  13. I hope this turns out like the great coke debacle of the 70's. I hope they starve, then have to eat crown and bring Auntie back.

  14. I get my maple syrup from Canada, where I understand there are no blacks, only Asians of various stripe.

  15. Sour dough pancakes or waffles with blue berries cooked in them, some real butter on top. Two or three eggs (hot our the birds from the barn) on the side, some sausage, pan fried hot spiced okra, spuds. Now thats a breakfast.

No need for that SUGAR Poison at breakfast

  16. Not once in my 75 years did I ever think of Aunt Jemima as a "Mammy" serving her white masters. Only open-minded progressive white liberal Democrats could reach that conclusion, because they see all blacks as servants.

  17. This all started when we didn't stand up for the Frito Bandito.

  18. I haven't used 'syrup' since I was a kid. I use honey on pancakes, french toast and oatmeal.
    Try it. You'll like it!

  19. The blew a great opportunity. by leaving the image alone, telling the story of Nancy Green, the person behind the depiction on the label. She was many things, born into slavery, became the spokesperson and image for the pancake mix. Stupid, lazy, cowardly, "woke" corporation.

    1. Correct! I found it ironic when reading about the PEARL pledge....
"Aside from the brand name change, Pearl Milling Company started the P.E.A.R.L. Pledge in May. P.E.A.R.L. Pledge stands for Prosperity, Empowerment, Access, Representation and Leadership. According to the Pearl Milling Company, the P.E.A.R.L. Pledge “is a multi-year program focused on championing the success of Black women and girls across the country.”
They do not see the irony that they disenfranchised a successful black woman in the name of diversity, sensitivity and supporting black girls and women (what about boys? Seems a bit sexist to me!).
