That looks like I-82 between Umatilla and Richland, and I know that shit has happened on that road.

    1. That dog self-identifies as a gator. Don't be a trans-species-phobe. :)

  5. 7) One day up here in North Texas a few years back we had a train of empty tank cars get blown over sideways off of the tracks. I've had the roll control system in my wife's car engage when just driving down the highway in a cross wind. They say in the early days of settling this part of the country the wind would literally drive people crazy.

  6. #5 & #10. I remarked on an earlier post about never in forty years having forgotten to set my handbrake. I have also never once opened a car door without first checking behind me.

I don't know whether you have an equivalent in the US, but in the UK we have an Institute of Advanced Motorists. You can join and take lessons and pass the advanced driving test which is to a much higher standard than the government mandated test. Part of what they teach you is to anticipate idiots who open their door without looking. There is often sufficient space to pass a door's width away from the stationary vehicle. I did some advanced lessons with the motorcycle branch, I learned stuff that I didn't know I didn't know.

    1. You wouldn’t have that problem if you learned how to drive on the correct side of the road❗️🇺🇸 🇺🇸

    2. The tradition of passing on the left goes all the way back to the time when you might have to defend yourself when meeting a stranger on the highway. Your sword arm had to be on the same side as any potential adversary. Car doors are a potential hazard either way so I'm not sure what your point is.

  9. #5 Maaaany years ago I was driving my large green double decker bus past some parked cars at about 25mph. I saw one driver was going to open his door and carried on regardless. There was a bump somewhere behind me but I knew nussing! When I came round again the fuzz were waiting. I played the daft laddie and got away with it because the idiot had opened his door into the back wheel arch and because of all the vehicle noise I couldn't hear anything. I presume he didn't do it again - not with that door, anyway!

    1. I've never understood the attraction of convertibles, especially now that we have cars with climate control. Of course I live in England where the weather tends to be a bit rubbish most of the time. I remember being out on a baking hot day, basking in air conditioned bliss, seeing a convertible with the hood up and thinking, if not today then when?

  12. Nothing wrong with #10, the man had a dead battery and cleverly maneuvered himself and the vehicle so he could do an easy downhill push start.

  14. I know I must be an a$$hole, but #4 makes me laugh every time I watch it!
I realize that the motion of the camera shows it was a setup, but it still strikes me as funny.

  16. #6 Dogs truly are a man's best friend. They show us the way.

Should I let a woman hold me back? No, I should be like that dog and just power right through her bullshit to do what I want!
