Starting in October, average benefits for food stamps (officially known as the SNAP program) will rise more than 25 percent above pre-pandemic levels. The increased assistance will be available indefinitely to all 42 million SNAP beneficiaries.

I always avoid the grocery store on food stamp weekends, the lines are long and the carts are full. I have seen on more than one occasion a food stamp recipient get 300 dollars of food. Then for the items that are not eligible there is a male with the food stamp women who pulls out a roll of cash and pays for that. Then you see them in the parking lot loading all that stuff into a newer vehicle than I can afford. Guess the race and I can tell you it isn't lower middle class white folk.

DeleteIf you go to the right store, you can buy stuff with food stamps and then sell it back to the store for cash - at fifty cents on the dollar. The store then restocks the shelves and the customer heads to the liquor store. At least, that’s the way it worked in East Tennessee when I was a kid.

Here in Ky, I have 4 school age children, one 19 year old, and 1 year old baby. We do not qualify for anything. However I have custody of another neice. I get 186 dollars a month from KY to feed her. They charge that to her parents and every once in a great while they pick one of them up and I will get 8 to 10 dollars of child support, then they will disappear again.
ReplyDeleteWe did, due to covid get what the moonbat governor called P-EBT for the kids over summer break. It was almost 600 per child. I used it to stock up on shelf stable foods for what I believe is unstoppable now.
Did I need it? Nope.
They just sent it to me. I didn't ask for it.
It is insanity.

I worked retail back when food stamps were actual coupons and change was given as real change. Had 2 families come in and look let each cookies cruncher buy a .50$ candy bar and after that bought a pack of smokes and a 12pk of Milwaukee best. When I rang all the candy bars up as one transaction they were offended and threatened to come over the countertop after me.
ReplyDeleteI called the manager, and told him either i quit or I report the fraud to welfare, and the families to immigration. When I said imigration I was all of the sudden standing alone looking at the 12pk, they boogied down Rt66, and stopped shopping there.
I'm tired of sponsoring stupid behavior, and paying for pussy I didn't get.
