Here's a post from his back-up site.
This is not a surprise. This day has been a long time in coming, and we have been prepared for it on every front. You may wish to note that this post was made barely an hour after Google took action. Special thanks to the dev team, who were ready for instant action and whose rapid response time allowed such an easy and seamless transformation.

Google is not ready to take on the Supreme Dark Lord.

DeleteI wish there was a list of all the outlawed blogs and their new address's. If they don't want me to see something, makes me want it all the more.
ReplyDeleteSMH, I have suggested in the past, when hearing about or being confronted with news of my favorite sites being deplatformed, that you guys should get together and develop a platform that can't be shut off by whoever is hosting because you will own the hosting software and hardware or can rent the hardware. There have to be patriotic techies out there that visit these sites that would contribute their time to this endeavor.
ReplyDeleteI know that developing a platform like Wordpress or Blogger can't be easy, but WTF they do it in the movies ;-)).

I'm a comms engineer. The reason they don't have a list of banned sites is not so much google but the ISP's as well. The ISP will kill sites if tehy are bullied by google.
DeleteIts only amatter of time before everyone who isn't woke gets banned.
No need to develop a platform like Wordpress. Rent a bare metal server or rackspace in a data center. Go to wordpress.org and download the Wordpress software. Install it on your server and go.
DeleteHeck, I once hosted a web site for a model railroad club on a Raspberry Pi in my living room.
Ok. How do we find these data centers? I live in Missoula, Montana and never see any kind of ads for one.
DeleteSame mindset that took down Vox is the same as that which made the 'Net go dark in Cuba.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Vox Popoli, and Vox Day, but never looked into his biography. Now that I have, I am impressed that he is a good guy, and that is why the powers that be were waiting for the right moment to kill his feed.
ReplyDeleteI know enough about the Hugo awards to know that anyone who criticizes them is an honest person who cares more about fairness than in awarding bootlickers.
And from the things that I have seen in my small window, I can only caution you, Wirecutter, to be ready. You have more than enough hits on your blog to be on the radar, and your FB timeouts also put you on notice to be ready for the other shoe to drop.
Ted Beale, the self-proclaimed “Vox” is at best net neutral. He’s said and done some good things, but is also more than a bit of an ass who’s cultivated a collection of sycophants who make his comments section unreadable. One gets the strong impression that Ted is less about achieving any cause than making sure he’s publicly seen as the doer of the cause.
DeleteHe looks good superficially. But the more you know the more flawed he looks.
The calling out of the Hugos was a Larry Correia thing. Beale grafted himself onto it for self promotion and twisted it to his own ends.
