We Hate Our Government (Australian Edition)

A $35K fine for sixty people who gathered in an “illegal” church worship in Sydney. A group of rescue dogs that were shot by a local council so that rescue center staff would not travel to pick them up under the guise of Covid restrictions. Police firing rubber bullets at lockdown protestors. Despotic state premiers refusing the prime minister’s call to reopen once 80% vaccination rates are achieved. Homes of Covid sufferers in South Australia to be marked so that their neighbors can rat them out to police if they breach tyrannical stay at home orders. Celebrities offered cash payments by government to promote the pro-vaccine propaganda line. The military ordered onto Sydney streets.

Why are we surprised? Did anyone think during a plague crisis, real or imagined, that our government would react in any way other than the most stupid, ineffective and damaging? Look at their prior form over the last sixty years. At all levels of government, from the federal to the state and to local councils, the results speak for themselves. A consistent rate of public failure. And underneath all, a foundation of endemic corruption.

  1. Adam has some really good articles, and a book or two. His blog is worth a read.

  2. I can understand the level of frustration growing to rage at what is going on in Oz. Like here, unless some of these politicians and police start turning up dead, nothing is going to change. Since Aussies rolled over and let the .gov take their means of retribution, just what leverage do they have?

When that law was passed in 2007, not sure that that's the correct year, what they should have done was shot all of the legislators that voted aye and all of the police that came after them for it, elected new leaders and amended their Constitution to include free speech and the right to keep and bear arms and if the Queen didn't like it, tell her to stuff it where the sun don't shine.

Then you have dumbass serving NCO's, like the one a few articles down, threatening U.S. citizens with comply or else. Well, fuck that.

If she was a real patriot AND aware of the oath that she took, same one I took almost 60 years ago as an enlisted man to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, she'd be fragging the superior officers that are brain washing her to spew what she did.

I sense things are coming to head, here and abroad. I'm not sure, but I think this year is not going to end well for a lot people that think their shit don't stink.

    1. Never, EVER give up your guns.

That is the ONLY reason that is not here right now.

The powers that be KNOW they would get shot in the face, while we "frolic in their fountain of blood and mount their heads on fenceposts", per Aesop.
      I'm down, for the record.

    2. Aesop's all talk, no action - he thinks he's some kind of star when in reality he's nothing but a fucking cheerleader.

    3. I was thinking the same thing, Kenny. I like a good rant like everyone else, but when Aesop talks it's all "keyboard commando". Where was he when the communists were taking over California?

    4. He was blathering on about how the people were going to rise up and slaughter them all. What he failed to mention was exactly who was going to do it as well as a timeline - so basically he was just verbalizing yet another fantasy.

  3. Shooting people with rubber bullets for going to church. Australia, they banned guns a while back didn't they?

  4. Declare the church a mosque. Everyone wears fake beards, including the women and children.
The craven government wouldn't dare harass adherents of the religion of peace.

  5. What is this "Australia" you keep referring to? Do you mean South Irian?
