Marked safe from being keyed for parking too close

General Motors says some Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV owners should park their vehicles at least 50 feet away from other cars and only park on the top floor of parking garages due to reports of fires.

  1. Just wondering: how environmentally safe were those fires?

  2. They haven't learned anything in all these years? They were having that problem with the Chevy spark back then too!

  3. "Our focus is on safety". Bullshit of the purest ray serene. The focus of American Manufacuring is on selling the cheapest piece of shit they can stick the customer with. I learned from experience the purpose of Quality Assurance in big companies is not to make the best possible product but to find out what the lowest quality you can get away with is. China is kicking our ass because they are better at finding the bottom dollar quality that will still sell. So sad. "Don't park near other cars because yours might explode".

    1. GM's advice comes out of their experience from getting sued when one of their electric cars self-combusted. As with most "our recommendation is..." statements, as well as warning labels, is to protect the corporation, not the consumer.

But you guys already know that, so I'm just preaching to the choir. AKA: ranting. :-)

    1. Buyers of the new Corvette C8 should go review the Fiero - the last time GM tried to make a mid engined sports car!
