Some things a man just can't resist

SHINGLE SPRINGS (CBS13) – It’s surveillance video you’ll have to see to believe. 

Security cameras Sunday night captured a Cal Fire engine plowing through the property of a truck rack business in Shingle Springs. 

“When I got the notification of it early this morning, I couldn’t believe the fact that somebody had stolen a Cal Fire Truck and had actually driven it through my property,” said Van Thompson, owner of the company. 

Cal Fire told CBS13 that as crews responded to a grass fire sparked by illegal fireworks, an inmate firefighter stole the engine and took it for a spin. The agency issued this statement in regard to the incident:

  1. In our small town some dudes stole a forklift from one business, drove it across the street to break into another business and lift their safe out. On their way home they drove it into a third business to steal some jewelry

    ...leading an astute observer to wonder about unreported military casualties.

    These are important distinctions:
    * Anybody in a military is not a civilian.
    * A civilian is anybody not in a military.

    Unless LawEnforcementOfficials are in a military, civilian LawEnforcementOfficials are civilians.
    Unless in a military, firefighters are civilians.

    Anybody with a journalism degree understands this.
    Unless pushing an agenda, try to communicate using standard definitions, OK?
