  1. #5 So, sight line a tad above bore, huh?
Hunting buddy of mine tells a story about a guided hunt out west on horseback. Seems one of the party took a shot while still mounted and plunked his mount in the back of it's head. End of hunt...

  3. #6...impressive...10 photoconductor drums to make that floral print..am unclear as to how the toner is applied to the drums, however.
Most color copiers/printers are 4 color, and I have heard of 6; but 10...$$$

    1. This is silk-screening on an industrial scale, more like offset printing than anything done one-off by a laser printer.

The ink is probably pumped in from the side and distributed across the pattern at the contact point with one roller per color, so no CMYK blending. I noticed we don't see the camera-side edge of the rollers that might show more detail on the plumbing.

Pretty cool to see the pattern develop as the colors are laid down.

    2. Ten color rotogravure printing is pretty common.

  5. #5 - I pulled a 'dumb ass' similar to that years ago. Shooting over my truck hood, the beach towel was rolled and placed on top of it. No - did not shoot a hole in my hood, but the muzzle blast left marks I did not notice until later. I did not repair until truck was completely re-painted, figuring stupid shuld hurt. And it did.

  7. #1: an other example of soccer refusing to ever stop the clock, inviting fake injuries and scenarios like above which could have been a real injury, only making it worse.

    1. Watched an all Samoan rugby match in Reno back in the 80s. One of the player did not like the call the ref made and punched him in the head. The ref got up, knocked the player out and continued up calling the match. One of his buddies walked over, grabbed him by the wrist and drug him off the pitch.
(they were playing in Reno because both teams were banned from playing California. Who would have figured?)

  10. #5. I know a guy was at his truck when he saw a deer on the opposite side of the truck a couple of hundred yards away. He rested his rifle in the open window with the muzzle inside the truck and shot through the opposite open window.
It's amazing how much damage a 7mm mag with a muzzle brake can do to the interior of a truck. It blew out the back window, cracked the windshield, and damaged the dash, seat, and headliner.
    He got the deer though.

    1. Had a friend do that across the bed of his flat bed farm truck on a deer. Thing was, he forgot about his farm dog Rowdy sleeping on some burlap bags a couple of feet away. From then on whenever Rowdy saw a gun he went and hid under the truck.

  12. #9 - if I understand it correctly lightning leaves behind a trail of ionized air which creates a path of least resistance for subsequent strikes, if sufficient charge remains built up between the cloud and earth or between clouds.

  13. #5 So much more common than we'd like to admit. My brother shot a hole through his mirror (don't ask the obvious). While my father shot across the hood and blasted the paint off. Ha!
