It's over Gregson Street in Durham, NC and has been raised to 12' 4" and it's still catching stupid truck drivers. The bridge was opened at the new height November 5, 2019; the first truck to get caught was on November 26.

Theory: It hit the tree, popped up, and fell down hitting the post. It's the only way I can visualize getting in there without a crane. They certainly won't get OUT without a crane or removing that post, which would require a crane anyway.
The car arrived from the camera direction at significant speed. When it hit the tree, the impact was off center towards the left side. The light rear end went elevated. The wreck followed mass counter clockwise around the tree.
As confirmation look at the back bumper. The black strip shows that the car was descending when it encountered the metal poll. The bumper is lifted higher at the contact point.
Bay of Fundy. We saw an overweight, unaware woman almost get caught on a rock as the tide came in. Of course in just a few more minutes that "big" rock was completely submerged as well. It was unbelievable how fast it came in.

Couple of weeks ago, one had stretched his web across the frame opening for my rear sliding glass door. Pulled the curtain, opened the door and walked right into it. What a mess...and a dead spider.
Why don't they hang a bar of the apprpriate height above the road just before last exit before the bridge. Or is Roads Dept. doing quite nicely out of bridge inspections and "repair"?
#7: I wonder if he was flying along, or if there was a slow grind while he drove two full car lengths at low speed after initial impact. The apparent lack of damage to the windows in that Audi makes me think it's the latter.
#8: As much as I'd love to make a "made in China" crack here, it can be surprisingly hard to find an ice cream scoop that doesn't suck.
