Mustangs have been doing that since 1969. Buddy had a Mach I that had a 428 Cobra Jet engine. Stand on it and turn and it would bite its own ass. Fast.
Lotta torque and no weight in the ass. Makes a top if you don’t pay attention.
I drove a Bullit commemorative Mustang a couple times maybe 12-14 years ago? It would stick if you romped it. Then you had to floor it to get it to release again. It had traction control on it, thank God. It did it twice to me. Both times when I was passing someone on the interstate. That car was quick and fast.
#4 Something like that happened at the local indoor range, using reloaded weak .38s in his .357. One reload was way light on powder or maybe it was just a primer. He assumed it didn't fire, and didn't rule out a squib.

I hate it when a light rear end feels all sorry for the heavy front end because it's working so hard and comes around up front to try to help.

ReplyDelete#4 How much do you want to bet there was a patch left in the bore from the last time it was cleaned?
#4 Stress corrosion cracking commonly caused by chloride contamination of the machining cutting lubricant or cleaning solvents.
