NO KIDNEY FOR YOU!!!

DENVER (KDVR) — A patient on the kidney transplant list was moved to inactive status by UCHealth for not receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. Her living donor is also unvaccinated and UCHealth said both need to be vaccinated for the transplant process to continue.

The letter Leilani Lutali received states: “The transplant team at University of Colorado Hospital has determined that it is necessary to place you inactive on the waiting list. You will be inactivated on the list for non-compliance by not receiving the COVID vaccine. You will have 30 days to begin the vaccination series. If your decision is to refuse COVID vaccination you will be removed from the kidney transplant list. You will continue to accrue waiting time, but you will not receive a kidney offer while listed inactive. Once you complete the COVID vaccination series you will be reactivated on the kidney transplant list pending any other changes in your health condition.”

  1. That is a damn shame. It's a travesty that someone can be forced to take an experimental vaccine in order to have lifesaving surgery.

Reading some of the comments below the article, someone , pro-vax, said a person has to get a Hep C vaccine before surgery. That person lacks reading comprehension and is an idiot. There is no vaccine for Hep C. There is one for Hep A/B and that one is can be required, although unless it's changed in the last 10 years, it is a multi shot process...first shot, 30 day booster, then 6 month booster. Once you get the first A/B shot, the timing of the boosters has to be on point. Miss the vaccine less than a week around time of subsequent boosters and you have to start the process all over again.

( I'm not a doctor, but was diagnosed with Hep C about 10 years ago, allegedly received from my military service vaccinations in the late 70's. I've been through the whole process, including the "cure" for Hep C, a year of self administered injections and more pills than I could count.)

  2. She has stage 5 Renal failure and a direct donor. They are now reaching out to other facilities to try and get this done.
There is going to be a reckoning.

  3. My immediate response would be "How does your company keep the non vaccinated organs from replacing the compromised ? If your company can decide who receives the organ, than anyone getting COVID after receiving your donor organ should be held accountable, at least according to your logic.

I'm smelling class action lawsuit here - sic cem boys !!

  5. This pisses me off. I wish that some smart people would turn radical and do to that hospital what it deserves. I think that laying back and whining will never do any good and the oppressors will keep oppressing.

  7. This insanity continues as long as the criminals behind it suffer no consequences. When they start suffering then our suffering will end.

  12. I’m old and retired but I see great opportunity for a group of young, energetic, motivated and hungry lawyers. And, the opportunities just keep on coming. The attorneys who took on big tobacco and the producers of asbestos are filthy rich. It will take a complex, time consuming and expensive class action suit but, this “pandemic” has created a target rich environment.
