NRA Board reelects Wayne LaPierre

The National Rifle Association board of directors have voted to reelect CEO Wayne LaPierre his position as the group's chief executive officer - despite a scandal over the group's financing.

  1. They are his selected yes men and are going to follow him into bankruptcy.
I was once proud to be a Life Member but for the last decade I've just stopped supporting the organization.

    1. Same here JD.

About two or three times a year, I think to myself "Those fuckers!", and consider resigning my life membership. Not sure why I haven't. I've been a member since the 60s and have held a life membership since the early 80s and really started feeling dirty about it lately.

I also came to realize that the NRA has ZERO interest in winning this 'cash cow' 2A fight and just want it to keep going so they can justify their existence and get your money. I had thought their stance on the GCA'68 was an isolated incident...

  2. I used to be a member until I wised up. Now, if they send me any mail asking me to sign up again, I remove any identifying name or code, stuff the return envelope with newspaper clippings, and write on the donation form "NOT ANOTHER CENT UNTIL WAYNE AND HIS CRONIES GET THE BOOT". Stuffing it with clippings means they have to pay more return postage. FUCK THEM, in the ass, with a cactus.

    1. Still a member - at least until it expires, but any mail I get from them goes back with a message similar to yours.

    2. I'd wait till he burns out, then I'd piss on him.

  3. The vote is bogus, just like to the 2020 election. He's "selected" by the board which is staffed with his partners in crime. As much as I think the NY federal prosecutor is corrupt, I hope it nails him to the wall. LaPierre is a thief. He's been stealing membership dues and donations since he was first selected.

I wouldn't piss on the NRA or Lapierre if they were on fire.

  4. I retain my life membership because NRA membership numbers make the press and the other usual suspects nervous. Basically it's a sunk cost.

Mailings go into the bin, but (if I'm bored) email solicitations get a reply with "Not one more thin dime to you people until Wayne LaPierre and his fellow grifters are OUT."

  6. I’ve been a life member for at least a decade and I throw all their shit away. Until they shitcan Wayne, they will never get another cent from me. Should have resigned after they threw us under the bus in 94. Fuck em and any “néw” legislation. Come get em. Pack a lunch. Eod1sg Ret

  7. Sending the NRA money will have zero effect on 2A, if an when the absurdly felonious federal government choose to cancel it. At that point states will have to secede. That shouldn't be too long given that the dividing lines are getting much more clear nad the feds have displayed their willingness to commit any crime.

Erroneous! Untrue! We ultimately endorse all kinds of legislation that restricts the shit out of the Second Amendment.

  8. Used to be the NRA was a standup organization. Fo rat last whole bunch years and especially since la-pet-urinee has been the "guiding light" and never met a gun control regulation they weren't afraid to compromise on, its become a useless cause. Unsupportive of the cause of the 2nd unless it fill their coffers.

  10. An illegitimate election - I'm a Life Member and did not receive the notification of the switch. I've also heard that many other life members were not notified.

I bet all of Wayne's friends were notified.

  13. Too bad. I was hoping they'd get back to protecting gun rights instead of fund raising.
Wayne wore out his welcome years ago. Well, guess I'll look into SAF or some other worthy group.
