Putting the blame squarely where it belongs

Alec Baldwin may want to lie even lower if he’s still in Vermont.

The leader of a pro-gun group in the state where Baldwin is thought to be hiding out has publicly blamed the “Hollywood hypocrite” for his deadly on-set shooting — saying the star “broke every single rule of basic firearm safety that exists.”

Eric Davis, president of Gun Owners of Vermont, penned a scathing op-ed that ran in the Vermont Daily Chronicle on Wednesday — hours before photos emerged of Baldwin hiding out in the Green Mountain State.

  1. You are seeing it all wrong.
    If you don't consider that you and only you are responsible for your own actions, it absolves you of EVERYTHING and will make you a VICTIM who can BLAME everybody else.
    And, of course, makes you a democrat.

  2. Not just Baldwin. The carelessness and incompetence regarding gun handling on that set is stunning. The so-called armorer bears a great deal of blame as well.

    1. IIRC, a safety crew had walked off the set earlier that day (?) for continued safety violations.

  3. I hateses Alec with a white-hot loathing. But the fault lies mostly with the knuckleheads he kept on set to manage that buffoonery.

    Aa producer- he shares responsibility and I hope it bankrupts him.

  4. Didn't Abe Lincoln warn us about being shot by actors.

  5. A blogger, who shall remain nameless, has posted several articles on his site, starting almost immediately after the incident, deflecting blame from Baldwin. This blogger is NOT some far left sycophant. No, in fact he's been a champion of conservative values, 2A and safe firearm handling since I started reading his stuff 10 or so years ago, along with a host of other commentary on many topics of the day.

    I was astounded at his position on this.

    Mr. Davis has stated what, in my opinion, is the correct reading on Baldwin's failures in this incident.

    What I'm equally amazed at is why any actor, who handles or may be in the proximity of a firearm in whatever role (s)he's playing on any set, is not required by the actors union and all studio's hosting and backing theatrical productions, to pass an NRA or similar certified training course before ever setting foot on a set, never mind actually touching a firearm, with periodic retraining required.

    1. I know the blogger you're talking about. Remind me to never go shooting with him. Matter of fact, remind me to never get involved in anything even remotely sketchy with him because I'll be the one taking the fall.

    2. That blogger, some greek philosopher named idiot, is a member of the movie industry. And so he's covering for the whole industry.

      He's also the one that calls us non-vaxxed and non-masked people complete fucking idiots, while he's refusing to... get vaxxed.

      He must live in a mirrored house, because he sure does love himself.

    3. Yup, the same guy that screamed and carried on about how we were all going to die if we didn't wear masks or 'social distance', feeding the panic, then started talking shit about shooting people in the face if they tried to force vaccinations. Of course, it'll be somebody else doing the face shooting while he sits on the sidelines cheering.

      I bet I get 4-5 emails a day since that shooting directing me to his site and they're all saying "Can you believe this shit?"

    5. Words have value:
      * War is peace.
      * Weather is 'climate doing a trans-dance'.
      * Anti-social distancing is 'social distancing'

  7. I cannot help but wonder the following things. Alec Baldwin is commonly known for his temper tantrums. That being said; what if he took what he thought was an empty gun and , being mad as hell that the cinematographers were complaining about working conditions and were walking off the job (previously reported), that he pointed the gun at the closest cameraman (any person who operates a camera) and pulled the trigger (aka reckless disregard, manslaughter, wrongful death, reckless conduct with a firearm, etc. etc, etc. Now, the people who were working on the set are desperate to not be blacklisted by telling the truth, now say this was an accident? The person holding the gun is always responsible for the discharge of the weapon. It can be no other way. Send this man to prison.

    That's true, but it's also irrelevant. I'm rich, famous, and well-connected. Suck it, peasants!
