San Diego County Considering Further Restrictions on Home-Built Firearms

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- On October 19th, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors will consider a proposal to direct the drafting of an ordinance to further restrict the centuries-old practice of home-building firearms for personal use.

This proposal calls for the drafting of an ordinance to go beyond existing California law to define “’ghost guns,’ precursor parts for such guns and unserialized parts and guns,” ban the possession of unserialized parts for building firearms, prohibit making unserialized firearms or precursor parts specifically by 3D printing, and impose one-size-fits-all requirements for firearm storage.

Am I reading this right? They want a serial number on each and every item in your parts kit?
It's going to be hard engraving or stamping a number on those detents and springs.

  1. they just want to remove all firearms from the public. kind of hard to get goons to do their dirty work when there is a very good chance said fuckers would get shot for doing the deed.
they want us like oz is. defanged so they do not have to worry about getting shot for doing
what they want to us. kind of hard to enforce their will on people with the means to fight back.

    1. "kind of hard to enforce their will on people with the means to fight back."

Not as hard as trying on people with the will to fight back. That's been pretty much lacking throughout the West.

  2. They are trying to put their noses where it doesn't belong. Thru regulations, they are trying to limit your Second Amendment rights. It is all about control, control, control.

  3. They just want to ban the import, sale, or possession of plumbing parts.

Before "somebody else" forces them to run out of water.

  4. Just because serializing a spring or a pin would be ridiculously expensive doesn’t mean they won’t demand it. It’s not going to inconvenience THEM.

  5. This same topic came up in yesterday's Merrick Garland hearing. He said was "stunned" to find out "20%" of Chicago's gun crimes were committed with "ghost guns". (I'm sure that was thoroughly "fact checked") Nobody asked nor explained how a federal law requiring serial numbers and background checks would prevent a criminal from building a gun and then using it in a crime.
