Another example of someone getting paid by the job and not by the hour! Lol. Just think if most of American companies were also ran like that. We'd leave China in the dust!
The video is reversed. Look at how the rotor blades are moving: they spin counter-clockwise even in videos. The ripple in the guy's shirt is the other clue.
Still, landing on the top of the truck is a pretty cool way to reload a sprayer chopper.
A man (or woman) thoroughly at home with their machine. Watched a chopper loading bundles of Christmas trees in a truck years ago, as he approached the truck he let the bundle fly with the bundle landing perfectly in the truck every single time, and he never stopped. A constant circle of airborne precision. You find that a lot with chopper drivers, and practically every one is into their second half century of life. Not always, but mostly.
Practiced a chopper medivac with a SAR team once, the pilot kept approaching directly out of the sun, when he landed I asked (he was an old grizzled type) if he was a chopper pilot in Nam, he said yup.
Saw a documentary once with 2 Ozzies flying robinson 44's herding horses above the tree tops. Would swing the ass end around for the exhaust noise to push them on just like this guy rotated but faster.
That’s an amazing skill set right there.
ReplyDeleteThat crop duster/chopper pilot knows his shit!
ReplyDeleteif you cant decipher what is happening here --- that is a crop spraying helicoper, stopping to reload weed killer to spray.
ReplyDeleteHe obviously has a lot of hours at those controls.
ReplyDeleteThat was not his first time doing that....
Tim in AK
That's a shit hot pilot. Pound for pound, if you want to see amazing airwork, watch Ag pilots.

ReplyDeleteSaw some fellas pull some amazing shit with a chopper overseas.

Not seeing it. The rotors spinning the wrong way are a frame frame artifact. Same as the chopper videos where the rotors appear still.
DeleteAlso, if the video is reversed then he's flying into the field backwards.
