Welcome Home, Marine

A fallen World War II Marine's remains were finally returned home to Nebraska.

John Paul "Jack" Langan was killed in action in one of the bloodiest battles in the Pacific. Like many of his fellow service members, his remains were never identified.

  1. The work these folks do accounting for all the lost graves is remarkable.

  4. With respect to his friends and family, that war is merely another hoax by (the usual suspects).
    .
Jack Langan needed to enjoy a long and productive life.
Instead, he believed in TheSystem... owned and operated by psychopaths utterly incapable of sympathy or remorse.

    1. The causes of WWII, especially in the Pacific, were caused by the usual suspects, but that war was a real one. It was Imperial Japan trying to force the US to back away from the Western Pacific, ignore any and all possessions of ours, and let Australia, India, all the little countries like Thailand and Indonesia and so forth and China and Vietnam and Mongolia all to come under the Greater East Asian Co-prosperity Sphere, with Imperial Japan large and in charge.

I've been to Pearl Harbor, seen the bullet holes still in buildings on Ford Island, seen the 550lb bomb in the roof of a basement that didn't go off, seen the Arizona still crying for her lost crew.

Lived on an island where we wrested it from the Japs. Who were keeping Koreans as slave labor on the island.

The Imperial Japanese were very close to making an atomic bomb. Most of the work was done in Nagasaki but moved out to now North Korea because of the firebombings, before we dropped one on that city.

The Rape of Nanking was real.

So was the work by the Imperial Japanese biological and chemical warfare unit. The atrocities in China and Mongolia made some of the stuff the Nazis do look like kid's play.

Yes, Jack Langen deserved to enjoy a long and productive life. But the Imperial Japanese wanted us dead, or at least so damned hurt we'd never sail off of our west coast ever again.

What would have been nice is if we hadn't poured our treasury out to the Soviets to keep them afloat, instead using all that war material for our own troops in the Pacific and in the Atlantic.

The root causes... Oh, the root causes of the Pacific War. Goes back to the Japanese joining the Allies in WWI and getting all of the German Mandate Possessions in the Pacific. And fortifying them. Which is why Amelia Earhart went missing, somewhere over Micronesia. Then the Japanese moved on China in order to get access to the material wealth of China and Mongolia, and the oil in Indonesia and the Spratly Islands. At which time the USA said, "Oh, hell no" and slapped some serious trade restrictions on Japan. Which is the 'basis' of Japan's 'reasons' for attacking our naval power in the Pacific.

How much involvement of feckless idiots like the Roosevelts and the Soviet-controlled US State Department had in fucking up relations with Japan is speculation. Didn't help most likely. And FDR switching support from the National Chinese to the Commies in the middle of the war didn't help.

But, well, we were fighting literally aliens. Wanna know how space aliens might act if they ever attacked Earth? Just look at the way Imperial Japan waged war upon lesser people. And that's also how the Communist Chinese look at the rest of us. As aliens looking at insects (Central China considers itself the "Middle Kingdom" and all the lesser kingdoms are full of half-humans and uplifted animals. We are one of the lesser kingdoms.)

We fought real aliens in the Pacific. Thinking creatures that could mimic what Western Civilization did, but weren't anywhere near actual Western Civ values. We could not fathom how they fought and lived and died. Even today the difference between Imperial Japanese and modern Japanese is a huge gulf. They are nearly completely different people in a lot of ways.

We fought evil aliens. And won. And thankfully didn't have to invade those damned core islands, or had to continue to (conventionally) bomb, burn, kill, and blockade the people into submission. We wouldn't have survived as humans if we had to kill off half to two-thirds of the Japanese as a people. Or more.

If his remains were never identified, how do they know who it is? Journalists just cannot write anymore.
