Biden was already facing sliding poll numbers with an electorate worn down by the coronavirus pandemic and increasing inflation. Now, the president finds himself caught between outraged Democrats — some of whom were already stewing over Biden’s inability to land police reform and voting rights legislation — and Republicans looking to use the Rittenhouse case to exploit the national divide over matters of grievance and race.
The article was pretty much spot on, as far as saying that Biden and his party screwed up by putting so much weight on crucifying Kyle. But it also was right on point when it warned that the Republicans run a risk in trying to make Rittenhouse into a hero.
ReplyDeleteWhile Kyle Rittenhouse may be a hero to many of us on the conservative side, as we learned in 2020, you cannot win elections just by getting all of the voters from the right to vote for your candidate. You have to get a large enough number of left leaning voters to leave the Democrats as well. And in order to do that, you have to show how unreasonable the position of the Democrats really is. In this case, simply showing the truth was enough. Now if the Republicans themselves can only learn that lesson, and keep on repeating the truth, loudly, and reject those of their own party who refuse to deliver that message, no matter how powerful, or how popular.
Trump did attract more voters than in 2016. He got more than 11 million more votes in 2020 than 2016. No incumbent has ever increased there vote totals and lost before. Of course we know that he did not actually lose this time either. Unfortunately, voting hardly matters anymore since the democrats will flip or make up however many votes they need.
DeleteVoting is irrelevant now. 70% of the world just took a lethal injection to their DNA. There is no going back.

It is surreal how people choose to ignore what is happening in the world.
DeleteI did not read the article, but the summary implied that race grievance was a republican thing. Seriously? The democrats are the party of race hustlers.
ReplyDeleteAnd race baiters...
DeleteDR3 has been a losing argument for decades. Fair or not, the Left won the battle of public perception and the GOP is the party of racists. Yet another shocking example of the Right's preferred strategy of not fighting until the battle is lost producing a suboptimal result.
DeleteThey are master baiters, for certain
