Election Edition

It's important to keep elections in perspective. The Youngkin win in Virginia was a backlash against wokeness and willful societal destruction in the name of not being a horrible person. The old saying "nice guys finish last" reflects the rough and tumble world of politics. For those who would rather maintain civility, decency and self respect, it's sometimes better to lose than to get into the gutter with one's opponent just to win, depending on what one stands to win. When it comes to a bonus, or a raise, one might opt to remain decent and faithful to the virtues one promotes to his children. When it comes to the survival of the nation or the culture, there are no depths that should not be plumbed in order to win that fight, because no virtue is taught by starvation or execution.

  1. If the opponent is working the "gutter" and is doing well, You have to go get him or come up with a fantastic street sweeper. If you really want to "win", that is. Otherwise, work the sidewalk in front of women's fashions. The view is better.

  2. The point of this was actually pretty good. And there is some things to learn from this election, that should be instructive for the mid-terms. If the Republicans want to stand a chance of coming out on top, the have to be organized just as well as they were in VA. Because they can be certain that the Dems will have their ducks in a row, to achieve the same outcome that they had in 2020.

    1. Republicans only "organize" by accident. Remember Mitt Romney's ORCA?

  3. Funny you think your vote matters still.

    1. It sure as hell doesn't when you don't vote

    2. Last guy I know of who cast a vote that actually counted was Lee Harvey Oswald, and look what happened to him.

    3. Actually, I was rather convinced it doesn't until yesterday. Now I'm reevaluating my assumptions. BTW - try searching for Ed Durr for more information and maybe even a little enlightenment.

  4. Barry Goldwater said it best: Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

  5. But is it really a 'win' when Youngkin's last job was top leadership at the Carlyle Group? Sounds like a Deep State victory to me.

    1. Lesser of two evils then?
The real victory was taking back the GA.

    2. Can't say much about the Carlyle Group thing as I don't know much about it. What I do know about is McAwful's last stint as governor. Whatever Youngkin did or did not do at Carlyle cannot compare. Even supposing you are correct, given a choice between two "Deep State" players, I'd still pull the lever for Youngkin.

  6. Given the wholesale outrage by Virginians, it makes me wonder why Youngkin didn't win by a much larger margin given all the mischief in lefty controlled areas. Further, with 200,000 absentee ballots left to count why did McAuliffe concede? Officially, Youngkin won by 70,000. There's another story behind the scenes.

  7. Your voting choices are as follows: (a)"Elect" those that would stab you in the back and (b)"Elect" those that would shoot you in the back.
Your choices will stay the same until you (we) all decide to start stabbing and shooting back. Ohio Guy
