Any civil rights lawsuit against Kyle Rittenhouse 'will fail,' legal analysts say

Following the jury's acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse , the teenager who beat felony homicide charges over the deaths of two protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin , legal analysts contend any follow-up civil rights case "will fail" if prosecutors push for one.

  1. It will fail, but that's not the objective.
Distraction from daily Buyden disasters is reason enough to go after this kid for the next one hundred years. Besides that, the Main Scream Media is running out of things to lie about and with their viewership dwindling to almost zero these days they do need a new daily soap opera.

  2. I'm fascinated how liberals look at a general situation and make a judgement...even at higher levels of government. "A white guy shot 3 people at a BLM protest! He must be guilty!" Vs. "A black guy was shot during an arrest! It's institutional racism!" Never mind facts that the white guy might have been facing felony assaults from each of the people he shot, or the non-white person had a weapon and was refusing police instructions.

Then throwing a fit when their knee-jerk feels-based preconception of 'justice' doesn't fit, they support throwing a tantrum about it. I swear they're dumbing down the masses, and those masses are reaching higher government.

  3. I am not sure that the OJ case is comparable, on a civil liability issue.
OJ was found not guilty under a criminal justice standard (beyond a reasonable doubt), while his civil case looked at the same evidence from a lesser standard of liability (preponderance of the evidence). The civil case found, under that standard, that it was likely that OJBdid kill Simpson and Goldman, and ordered money damages.
In the Rittenhouse case, there is no question as to what he did, self-defense is an admission of the act, but a defense as to liability for it, beyond a reasonable doubt.
I do not see where a civil case for damages, applying a lesser evidentiary standard, could disprove the self-defense justification of his actions, which have already been proven to a higher standard.
A Federal prosecution for a "denial of civil rights" would have to find an act committed by Rittenhouse that was not addressed in his criminal trial (to avoid double jeopardy), but served to somehow deny civil rights possessed by his attackers. I do not see any such acts.
Following Sandman, Rittenhouse will be seeing paydays soon. I smile.

  4. I sincerely hope that Rittenhouse sues those responsible for all this bullshit in the beginning and the continuance of it for enough multi millions he can buy his own country. Thats what it's gong to take for him to have any peace in his life. And all these media outlets continuing to slander and defame him need to be sued so hard they not only have to pay but have to cease to exist. However, large sums of money can cause its own problems. I'd just as soon stand em against a Walmart & rule 308 all the bastards.

    1. That should also include the stupid student groups at ASU that have labeled him a white supremacist racist killer and comparing what he did to the Greensboro 'massacre'.

  5. More proof of journalists who don't know what words mean, describing Rittenhouse as "the teenager who beat felony homicide charges..." Beating charges is not the same as a not guilty verdict.

    1. Bob, I'm sure they knew exactly what they were saying. Daily I hear "news" people pick their words to support the agenda. My local news reader referred to January 6 as a riot. Thats the first time I didn't hear it referred to as an insurrection. Or since november 3, "Trumps baseless claims". Spinning Kyle as avoiding his just dues has been typical from all the left sources I've read. "He got off on a technicality" is my favorite comment.

  6. Civil !awsuits succeed or fail mostly due to the intellect....or lack thereof....of the jury. Remember....a civil lawsuit and jury give a moron 2 million bucks of McDonalds money for spilling hot coffee on herself. So don't assume this young man won't be destroyed by civil suits.
