Gov. Gavin Newsom is facing criticism for leaving the state earlier in the week to travel and promote his new children's book. On Thursday, he pushed back at some of those critics with some crime statistics.
The governor was asked about the series of high-profile smash-and-grab robberies in California and the criticism that his state is “soft on crime.”
