Best I can figure, he's wearing a coat and gloves not because it's cold outside, but it's cold inside the Dry Ice trailer, but it's really been pretty warm outside and the trailer had all the vents closed. It could happen.
#3 As 'funny' as that is and perhaps it was accidental. But if not, that is assault on a police officer and even if was just water,... can't imagine what 'fun' it must be to be carrying a felony rap around for years and years.
Imagine being the father of a teen that did that, now imagine that father (all unknowing) opening the front door and staring down the barrel of a gun in the hands of a pissed off cop. Yeah, 'Fun'.
Assuming it was just water, that's a great example of someone who should not have a firearm in the first place. Piss poor impulse control. I really doubt he believed he was in fear for his life.
It's a taser he pulls, and if that's a 'corrections cocktail', it can be considered a felony. At a minimum, an assbeating with no witnesses. Not a single cop there 'saw a thing'...including the footage on the bodycam which will be played in every training session from that day forward. Whoever is on the 'other' end of that, deserves everything coming to them.
OK. It was grainy enough I could not tell for sure, but was more than halfway convinced it was his sidearm.
Asswhipping, sure. Anyone should be justified administering one in that case, though we all know that likely we'd face jail time if we snapped like that. I'm in a reasonably red region of Indiana, and in our CCW classes, they advise strongly against even OC spray response to a non-lethal threat.
As for felony, yes, I know. Sad that peace officers have become such nancy boys they need to be protected by legislation like that. Coupled with QI, that's a really bad combination.
But escalating to even a taser because someone disrepected you? Jeez, that's all the stories I see about gang bangers on the south side of Chicago, a couple hours outside my AO. I really do not need cops wilding on people because they felt disrepected, too.
At the very least, I think we can agree he was pretty lax in his situational awareness.
#9 - What in the hell kind of trailer could get pressurized like that? I guess it's a refer, but I didn't think they were that tight. Were they going across the border? Might have been bean farts again.
#9 possibly loaded at sea level in warm weather and drive up to high desert with a sealed load on dry ice. Happens with water bottles on a smaller scale. Definitely a well sealed trailer door.
Every single motorcycle rider I have ever talked to, has told me about the time they laid it down. Sometimes on purpose to avoid an accident, but usually while getting into an accident. Never made me want to own one. Except for one time. I bought one, drove it a mile home, then traded it for a wood stove and a .22 semi auto rifle. So I did drive one, once. Never laid it down. And it was fun, but I needed the wood stove at the time, and my brother wanted the motorcycle.
If they have to lay it down to avoid an accident, they're doing it wrong. Properly applied brakes will stop or slow you down a lot faster than sliding along the pavement. I've been riding since 1987, sometimes 1000+ miles a day, and never had to lay it down or had an accident.
#3: Just fucked around...about to find out. Sometimes the police beat your ass because you really have it coming.
#6: That game is fire! I have a Lenovo laptop that can run really hot because the ventilation in those things is nonexistent. I haven't personally seem anything smoke since an old PSU from the mid 90s though. I'd be running outside with that thing, or at least putting it in an empty sink to contain the damage. It doesn't feel like "hmm, I should film this" moment.
9???
ReplyDeleteI don't know but I bet he doesn't do that again.
DeleteCrazy. I've seen thousands of trailer's being opened over the past 30 years and I've never seen that happen.
DeleteDifferential pressure. Refer truck door was closed with a cold interior and opened after it warmed up.
DeleteScurvy
Banana load started to rot in a sealed container, built up pressuis my guess.
DeleteSteve the Engineer
Looks like fermentation/decomposition built up the pressure in the trailer. Looking at the guy it probably smells pretty bad.
DeleteI am thinking a refrigerator trailer with good seals closed at sea level and opened at high altitude. But only a guess

DeletePositive pressure so, not bc it's c[ld or refer truck since that would create negative pressure.
DeleteWhatever the cause, those door seals are solid.
# 2, the guys lucky he had a helmet on. And #5, they ain't timber fallers . . .
ReplyDelete#5: That's why you hire pros.

#3...somebody was about to get shot. Justified.

At least the guys in #5 bought all the cool stuff to look like tree fallers.

Delete#8. Always have a plan to stop, before the wall or ditch or whatever intervenes. Piss poor preparation and etc.
ReplyDelete#2 piss cop off, he pulls his gun, you get fitted for body bag
ReplyDelete#6: They don't work after you let the smoke out of them.
