Wow, still alive. Born in San Antonio, currently residing in San Angelo. Born into poverty, he was operating a lathe at age 13 before being spotted by a talent scout. Before the Bambi voice credit above, he played the son of Baron Frankenstein in 1939 in the movie ‘Son of Frankenstein’ with probably 3 of the greatest horror film actors ever, Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone, and Bela Lugosi (Karloff: the Monster, Rathbone: the Baron, and Lugosi: Igor). As a child actor, he was the family’s main breadwinner.

ReplyDeleteThat kind of character make's a Man and a Father!
Not if I wanted to survive basic training I would NOT.
ReplyDeleteI read this once. And was just as impressed with the man then, as I am now. Semper Fi, to a good man.
ReplyDeleteLearning that my Marine DI had once been the voice of Bambi would make him MORE terrifying.
