Pass the tinfoil, please

A South African researcher discovered what appears to be an image of a crashed flying saucer on the surface of Mars, according to re-analyzed NASA footage from 2006.

Jean Ward, an anomaly hunter, was searching through NASA images for noteworthy aberrations when he discovered the image taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Despite the image being 15 years old, Ward’s discovery of what appears to be the flying saucer is not.

  1. Looks like the Starship Enterprise. I bet a Klingon siting will soon follow.

  3. Both NASA and the Russians have had a lot of mission failures to Mars. I have no idea what’s in the picture but it’s not inconceivable that this could be part of one of those.

    1. Plus China and ESA, as well have had numerous failures to reach mars. For a while mars had the highest failure rate of any planet for probes.

    2. An interesting thing about some of those failures: Both Russia and the USA have lost any and all probes sent to get close-in looks at the 'moon' Phobos. It's said that Phobos has an orbit too low for it's size. The only explanation for this would be that the rock is hollow and not as dense as it's size would suggest. Yes, I'm wearing my foil hat.

  4. Or just a glancing hit from a meteor(ite). Or debris from a large impact nearby. By the way, you might have to do some testing to see if the current "aluminum foil" is sufficient for your needs or if you will have to restart emergency production of "tin foil" or the ancient "lead foil". This could be a fantastic new commercial opportunity! Maybe even a new product made of zinc. Think of all the new jobs for the plumbers put out of work by PVC pipe.

    1. I hear copper is popular. Especially in those nifty masks people wear.

    1. Well, that's at least different. From my limited observations, most bullehit is caused by politicians and journalists.

  6. I cannot understand why anyone could not believe in extraterrestrial life, given the vastness of the universe. That life would HAVE to be more advanced in comparison to what we've seen lately from our best and brightest.

    1. Any single cell organism on earth is more advanced in comparison to what you euphemistically call our best and brightest. Myself, I would flat out call them what they are. Bottom feeding, scum sucking politicians.

    2. I was referring to our doctors/scientists - how could you possibly think otherwise?

  9. MIT researchers showed that akumin foil hats actually increase reception of radio signals at frequencies reserved for federal goverment use.

  10. 12 to 15 meter diameter? The article said it was a photo of the largest known canyon in the solar system. Earth's Grand Canyon is over a mile wide in places, and over a mile deep, as well as several miles long. The canyon in the photo is supposed to be bigger than that. IF all those are true, and that is a UFO, it would be a damned sight bigger than 12 to 15 meters in diameter. I suspect a shitload of photoshopping going on here.
