I can't tell you how much good it does my heart hearing some of the youngsters today playing some old skool country music. Over the past couple years I've ran across some outrageously good artists that have turned into some of my favorites. What sucks is that a lot of them are only putting out streaming music and I'm not going to go down and buy a fucking smartphone just for music. There's a few that are putting out CDs and vinyl, but not many.
Anyways, I ran across this kid Wednesday evening Hope you enjoy it.
Usually Goes (3:38 minutes)
Storm The Gates (4:19 minutes)
Big City Turn Me Loose (2:19 minutes)
Outstanding. I soured on Rock & Roll a long time ago and listen mostly to the Blues and old Country Music. This kid takes it back to the real Country Music not that vapid crap masquerading as country music now a days.
ReplyDeleteIf you want a cheap smart phone to get your music, try Net10. They have cheap phones if you sign up with them. I pay about $22 per month for unlimited calling and text (which I don't know how to use) and some amount of data (which I also don't use). I got some older version of a Galaxy phone I think cost me $30 bucks, but it was a couple of years ago and I don't remember the exact amount.
ReplyDeleteIf all he's looking for is a way to use streaming services, he doesn't even need a pay as you go plan. You can buy a used smartphone or tablet, don't activate it, and still use a lot of streaming services over wifi.
DeleteAndy, I listen to music on my computer at home, but I need CDs for my truck. No WiFi when I'm on the road.
DeleteThere is a Firefox plug in called video download helper that lets you convert you tube videos to mp3s and those can be burned to cd or downloaded to usb flash drive or mp3 player and play in a vehicle.
Delete$22/mo? I paying $12.50/mo for unlimited call and text. It's $17.50 for 5gb data too, and they refund the data you don't use.
DeleteOf course, your tried to buy the phone outright, and that's about $100, so that's 22-12.50=9.50/mo savings, or about 11 months payback time.
And I'll second what you said about Firefox plugins. There's a variety of them designed to do download mp3's from YouTube, with various levels of effectiveness and technical know how needed. Try a few and see what works for you.
