Seventeen gun firms flee to friendlier states

The gun industry is warning liberal states that pushing for anti-gun policies and taxes will speed an already active escape by weapons makers to friendlier states such as South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the industry lobbying and information group, is encouraging its members to look at the trend away from anti-gun states including New York and Maryland.

  1. Well good. When the shit hits the fan the real American states will have all the weapon and ammo manufactures.

  2. You're seeing it all wrong.
Not only do those states hate guns, they also hate jobs so you are basically doing them a favor.

    1. They have risen from the ashes and retained (rehired?) most of the old employees.

    2. A lot of American companies have really fallen in love with the "Fuck the customers!" business model, though. Doesn't really seem to work, but hey...they've probably got Ivy League MBAs in charge.

    3. Remington is comng back. After the bankruptcy when it was split up and sold off the companies that bought it are getting it back into business. Ammo is already in production and guns are coming back soon.

  4. Smith and Wesson recently announced that they will move most of their production and their headquarters from MA to TN in 2023. Supposed to be around a town called Maryville, if memory serves. Yay.

    1. Part of the way to pay for S&W to move to Tennessee is to close a large distribution center outside of Columbia, Mo. Nothing comes for free, there is always a price attached.
