Your Thursday Morning Florida Report

LUTZ, Fla. - Feras Al Younes was running on fumes when he pulled into a gas station to fuel up. While he was there, he picked up a scratch-off ticket that ended up turning him into a millionaire!

  1. Nice to hear a person in humble circumstances coming out a winner. I hope they can keep it - so many times hearing of overspending catching up and them losing it all quickly.

  2. Just in time for Biden and his buddies to grab a big piece. Still, the splashy report will get several million suckers to buy tickets and pay for that lucky hit.

  3. But at least, in Florida, there is no state tax on the winnings.
    Though the lotteries themselves are a tax on the math challenged, as they are almost never a fair bet. Fair bet defined as one where the payout ratio equals the odds against winning.

  4. We moved to Las Vegas back in the Rat Pack days and it was then that my mother told me that they don't keep all the lights on because of the winners. As in this case, the winners just act as a Judas Goat leading others to slaughter. The winning pot, just chum in the water to attract the suckers.
