The first, is a much faster collapse in credibility for those who are pushing the vaccine benefit narrative. The second, the more widespread appearance of shortages for food and basic essentials. These two broad narratives are going to merge. CTH will outline the issues as they predictably surface. This outline focuses on the latter, the supply chain angle.

I believe the food disruption will affect only the Canadians, for the moment. Once the US rules go into effect, then any food items being trucked in from Mexico will be impacted. With just the Canadian rules in effect, it will drive already high lumber prices even higher, plus paper products too.
ReplyDeleteI'm already seeing shortages of produce coming from south of the border.
DeleteWe have been seeing sporadic shortages in middle Tn. for months, and not so sporadic inflation. In a lot of cases, it's shrinkflation, same price, smaller quantity.
DeleteWas at the local Fred Meyer (part of Kroger) earlier today, and there are gaps on the shelves where there weren't any last week.

That's good Kenny you should be buying Florida produce not Mexican
ReplyDeleteI buy what the store has. It's not like I have a lot of choices around here.
DeleteThe down side of living in rinky-dink rural - we have Walmart & HEB & that's it; and we have to drive to town for that.
ReplyDeleteSame here. Walmart and Piggly Wiggly, and they're both 5 miles away.
DeleteThe old adage applies here - gommermint fuck around - gommermint find out. It ain't the people causing this shit, it's the enforcement bullshit that causes all this shit.
