A better way is to cut a slot in the ice for the tow line and drag the car backwards to shore, cut a patch big enough for the car to emerge right next to shore and roll it up on shore. This just ruined that vehicle.
First off, the car wasn't totally submerged, so your suggestion would have them purposely sink the car. Second, you have no idea what lies below the water, on the bottom of that lake.
The quality of todays manufacturing... make it lighter, it'll get better mileage... make it lighter, it'll will be cheaper to manufacture .There's the ticket .
That'll buff right out!
