Gotta keep that shit offline, people

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A Georgia sheriff’s deputy was suspended and faces being fired over comments posted on social media after a judge sentenced three white men to life imprisonment in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery, news outlets reported.

  1. Don't know everything about this case, but though they killed the guy it seemed that there was no premeditation. So the 1st degree charge and life in prison should be successfully appealed.

  3. It was a simple statement of fact. Why does an LEO lose 1st Amendment rights on his own time on a non-govt. site? Can we fire all the other govt. people that express their beliefs outside of work also?

    1. A lot of employers, both private and government, have clauses in their employment contracts about 'embarrassing' the company. Safeway, the company I retired from, had one which is why I never mentioned them by name in this blog until the day I retired.

    2. I agree, a couple years ago, I discovered the company I work for, (privately owned very small defense contractor) had a social media policy that applied to my private life.
There were many posts on LinkedIn that I had to let pass w/o comment in order to keep my job.
But here I can post FJB!

    3. Yes, I see that side of it, and yet like many other rules the repercussions are often selective and only apply against the right. I bet there's a ton of govt. people on social media that advocated for BLM and antifa violence.

There must be a way to turn it back on them. A lawsuit for infringing on Constitutional rights perhaps, given they only pursued this due to being a politically incorrect BadThought. This LEO should find some of his black colleagues' past postings and sue.

It's a reason I am only Anon now, or using a pretend name.

  4. Arbery was a schizophrenic off of his meds who attacked the McMichael's. They killed him in self defense. Him attacking them is on tape. The only reason they were even charged is that Arbery is black.

  5. He wasn't a jogger until after he exited the house and was spotted by neighbors. Since "joggers" had robbed houses in that neighborhood in the past it wasn't surprising that this trespassing looter/jogger might have been chased by the neighbors. Sadly the jogger turned into a fighter and tried to take the shotgun away and was holding the business end as he jerked it away from the neighbors and it went off (duh!). Had the "jogger" been white or the neighbors been black no one would have cared and it would have been treated exactly like what it was, i.e. and escaping looter caught by witnesses was accidently shot when he resisted.

  6. No. They were run through the Circus Justicus because,

"Their neighbor, William 'Roddie' Bryan, joined the pursuit in his own truck and recorded cellphone video of Travis McMichael firing close-range shotgun blasts into Arbery, 25."

    Instawhore princesses gotta instawhore.
