Kraft Heinz Tells Grocery Retailers Price Increases Beginning 2022 Will Be Up to 20%

Hopefully everyone has done their preparatory diligence and are well situated to assist their family, because prices on fast turn consumable goods (groceries) are now less than 30 days from entering exponential increase phase. CTH has been counting down the days to impact as the contract terms of 30, 60 and 90 days have begun expiring.

  1. I don't know about other places but here in Fl I haven't been able to find Heinz Chilly Sauce in months. I use it instead of ketchup.

  6. I saw something similar to this a few weeks back. I live in ATL suburbia but grew up on a farm. I cleaned out the pantry, the kitchen freezer and my garage freezer of the crap that was over a year out of date and stuff we will never eat. Since I am retired military I made a Commissary run. I live over an hour and a half away but this was in conjunction with a R&R New years eave trip. I stocked up on about 6 months of grub filling the freezer with meat and the pantry with dry/canned goods. Very little of it is carbs. I have 5 lbs of rice and potatoes in the pantry/basement prior to the trip. Potatoes are renewable with a potato box.

  8. Expect across the board increases on everything. Fuel costs alone will drive the prices up.
My own expectations are that within a year food costs will double.
The local Dillons has four packs of canned corn and beans. Those have gone from $1.99 to $2.49 in the last six weeks. A three pound bag of rice at Aldi's was $1.79 in October. Last week it was $2.39
Stock up while you can IF you can.
