They still have mask mandates in California?

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — California’s indoor mask mandate has been extended until next month, public health leaders announced on Wednesday.

Dr. Mark Ghaly, California’s Health and Human Services Secretary, said increased hospital admissions are concerning.

  1. I have been a lot of places this past week-Ace Hardware, brewpubs, restaurants, Dollar Tree, hatchet throwing pub, grocery, etc, etc. NOBODY is enforcing masks in this area because they are starving.

  2. Report from North Hollywood, CA:

Costco: wants you to wear a mask as you enter the store. After that, they don't seem to care.

Home Depot: an "associate" asked if I needed a mask. I said "no," and went about my business maskless.

Rite Aid: No mask, no comments, no problem.

Ralph's (supermarket.): I got squawked at by a Karen on Saturday, after she had them put out a "mask reminder" on the P.A. Ignored her, and joked about it afterward with one of the (masked) cashiers.

I'm not at all bothered being the only free-breathing person in a store; I'm more than a little dismayed by the obedient cowardice of folks I thought were Americans... but then again, I'm in Kaliforniastan.

  3. About the biggest mask Nazi biz is my eye doctor. They've really taken the big "C" seriously, removing chairs, only the patient is allowed in, gotta mask up the entire time, etc. Pretty much everywhere else is either no hassle at all, or you mask up as you enter. Once you're in the place they don't give a shit. But then our good sheriff Bianco has already stated he's not in the mask-enforcement business!

  4. I saw a big sign at Lowe's in Tennessee to wear masks. I saw about 3 being worn by customers. They were old.

  5. Just for the ducks of it, does anyone know how many of these increased hospitalizations are illegal aliens? The large number of illegals that end up in the Golden State must be sending the numbers through the roof. Just asking.

  6. ..and the CDC is about to ban regular masks and tell everyone to use N95's or equiv because Omicon is just so scary and dangerous. Not.
    N95's don't offer protection either.
Jeez, *I* checked the 3M website mask specs back in Jan 2020 but it seems no-one else did.
On my local tv the state premier said last night that everyone should live their lives like normal and Omicron was 75% less dangerous than prior variants. A lesson for the USA.

  7. I have seen very few wearing masks indoors here in North California. I'm ignoring it.
