Republican state lawmakers across the U.S. are trying to require schools to post all course materials online so parents can review them, part of a broader national push by the GOP for a sweeping parents bill of rights ahead of the midterm congressional elections.

  5. We need justice. The teacher unions often tell us so. And what could be more just than cameras in every classroom so the parents can see what is going on. All public school employees should have to wear body cameras as well. If LEO have to, teachers should too. For the children. There's nothing more valuable after all.

  6. A majority of the parents in my school district can't be fucked to attend a parent teacher conference, or even ensure their kids go to school. They don't give a wet fart about their kids education currently, and are too stupid to realize this info is available already, if they talked to their kids teachers and were involved and had an interest in their education, beyond wanting lil Cleetus to be able to play sports ball. Legislation is not a bandaid for lack of parent involvement and informed voting for school board members.

  7. During my last 10 years as a World History (10th grade), U.S. History (11th grade), and World Geography (9th grade) teacher, all of my class lessons were available for view on my school's teacher website. Any and all ancillary materials were available at the parents' request. No one ever objected to my teaching material. Our grade books were also available for parental examination on-line as well. I, at least, had nothing to hide from parents/guardians.

  8. More federal control is always the answer isn't it Republicans? That way when the Democrats are in power, they can use all that control to really screw you. What a team.
