"RESPECT MAH AUTHORITAH!!!"

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Tennessee legislature is considering a bill that will expand the definition of Law enforcement officers when it comes to certain firearm permit holders.

The bill is HB 2554/SB2523, and it is raising eyebrows. The bill was introduced on January 3.

  1. Sounds like another way to go around bullshit restrictions on where you can carry and as usual the po- lice are whining about armed citizens. Here's a thing, every firearms class I've taken required me to score atleast 95% hits on a target during live fire portions of the class to pass. The average cop couldn't score 70% by reading the reports on encounters that they use their gun to murder the citizens who they swore to protect. Fuck em

  2. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them to obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

You want to carry, concealed or open, carry on. Just remember, you are responsible. If you can't carry the responsibility, don't carry - Simple eh!

  3. We moved to Maryville in '04. I had a Georgia permit which would have been accepted for renewal in Tennessee if I went to Knoxville for an eight hour class since Georgia didn't require any training. I didn't bother and by the time we moved back to Georgia, there was a gun shop in Maryville which provided the training. Since eight hours gets you an enhanced permit now, is there still training required for a basic permit at all?

    1. I believe there's an online class, 4 hours, you have to take.

  4. Glad you all like Tennessee. I had my experience with "free" TN on I-24 in Monteagle. I'll stay away and leave room for y'all

  5. The stats say that permit holders kill 3 times more bad guys than cops. At the same time, they shoot one tenth as many wrong people as cops. Permit holders are also more law abiding than cops, as in fewer felony arrests. Follow the science!

  6. "If someone stands up in a theater and starts shooting, I'll ask you, how many people do you want to stand up and start shooting back?" Brown said. "One or two off-duty law enforcement officers or just anybody who had an 8-hour training permit."

Anyone who is armed and understands the duties of a citizen will do, whether or not they have been sanctioned by government.

  7. If our State would just OBEY the wording of our State Constitution Declaration of Rights, Article I, Section 26, it would eliminate all the convoluted gun laws, restrictions, exemptions, etc. We already have a right to keep and bear (CARRY) any firearm we own. The Legislature only has delegated power to regulate the WEARING, like holstered for a side arm or a sling for a long gun.
