And I'm sure the insurance companies are cheering this on

Some countries will now require COVID insurance if you plan to travel abroad from the United States. It’s making for a complicated and sometimes costly getaway.

My last trip was pretty large and long, and I purchased some combination of cancellation, health, and a few other things (including a hefty sum for evacuation that I think would have gotten me a private jet out of country if needed) and it really wasn't that expensive...something like $2 or $3 a day for the entire trip time. I'm betting a lot of these places will just make it a checkbox at a high rate to add just COVID coverage and hoping people don't shop around to find out a comprehensive health plan would cost less.

  2. Do they still sell flight insurance policies in a machine at the airport?
    I haven't flown commercial in so long I couldn't tell you.
