And you thought dogs were stupid...

In Paris in 1908, a smart Newfoundland quickly gained attention for being a local hero. He lived with a man on the banks of the Seine, which is just outside of Paris.

One day, a child was playing near the river, and he accidentally fell into the water. The child was very close to drowning, but this brave dog rushed to the rescue and saved him.

  1. If you are implying that Pinocchio Joe is destroying our country in order to then become our hero for saving it, then you're absolutely WRONG.
    Joe is just an idiot.

Growing up we had a couple of dogs. One a Collie the other a Chuahuha mix that had boundless energy and would hump a leg all day long if given the chance. The Chuahuha was not a favorite of my fathers and the dog knew it but my father tolerated it.

One day the Chuahuha was attacked by a neighbors dog got chewed up a bit including his right front leg no broken bones but really favored that leg to where he would hold it up off the floor when not walking around. My father took pity on the Chauhuha and showed him more kindness and compassion than he had in the past.

Well the dog picked up on this and for a while after his leg healed whenever my father came home from work or came in the house the dog would raise his leg, his ears would fall down and he had the most saddest look on his face.

It was quite comical and we all got a kick out of it.

    1. I had a Chihuahua/Terrierist mix that would sit and wave her 'injured' front leg at me whenever I'd get onto her about something.

  4. We had a Rottweiler back in 1964 - one of the very few in the country at the time - and I fell off the dock of our lake house on Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos. She jumped right in, grabbed me by the back of my shirt, and pulled me to shore. Thanks Kitty!!!
