Carpetbagger Morgan Ortagus Dodges Questions from The Tennessee Star: ‘You Need to Stop Being Mean to Me’

Morgan Ortagus, the former State Department spokesman and candidate in the GOP primary for Tennessee’s Fifth Congressional District, refused to answer questions from The Tennessee Star on Saturday after she spoke at a meeting of a local Republican group, the Bellevue Breakfast Club, in Nashville.

“You need to stop being mean to me,” Ortagus told The Star in an unprompted remark delivered as attendees milled about after she delivered her campaign speech to the audience of about 25.

Members of Ortagus’ campaign staff told The Star several times prior to her delivery of that unprompted remark that candidate Ortagus did not have time for questions from The Star about her campaign at the event.

The Star sought to ask Ortagus if she had established residency within the boundaries of the Fifth Congressional District yet, but she was quickly whisked away from the event by her campaign staff before The Star was able to pose that question.

This woman just recently moved here, has never held an elected office, wasn't living in the district she decided to represent, registered to vote just a few months ago but has never voted in a Tennessee election, yet she's running for Congress.

  1. This carpet bagger she is only running for Congress, not for Senate?
    The clintons will help her.

  2. She's a plant for the commie left. In districts they can't win openly they get shills to run. Good chance her campaign is getting cash from Soros or another commie source.

  4. Weird looking gal, some fake-"hot" uncanny valley shit going on there.

Why can't she seek office in Florida?

  5. Isn't that how that reprobate Steve Cohen got elected in TN?

  7. She worked for Trump in the State Department. She is a solid conservative.

She is hardly a clinton plant. You have to start somewhere, yes she just recently moved to Tennessee.

From what I heard Trump urged her to run for the seat.

    1. She needs to wait for at least 2-3 years to find out what Tennessee needs or wants before she runs for office. If she was in my district, I wouldn't vote for her for that very reason.

    2. I know Tennesse past that law, but I'd bet it's unconstitutional if challenged in Court.

She certainly beats Cooper (a dem) hands down who has been there 20 years.

Did you have to wait 3 years before you were allowed to vote in Tennessee? Agreed she needs to establish a residence and answer some questions.

    4. No, I didn't have to wait but there's a HUGE difference between me casting a single vote in a State with a population of 7 million and her single vote in Congress.
And as far as Trump endorsing her.... look at all the losers he appointed when he became President, and they wasted no time stabbing him in the back.

    5. For a moment forget the law, let's focus on ethical integrity.
Would you take advice about your area from a person who just a week ago moved there? One who has had zero connection to your area.
Now give that person authority to help make laws concerning your area and the people who live there.

How does that make good sense or good governance?

  8. That tactic worked for the horse-teethed bartender from NY. At least she is a republican.

  9. The State Department under Trump was a wretched nest of scum and villainy. They undermined him at every chance they could.

They are still probably the least patriotic, most globalist-favoring bunch of Soros-asskissing Davos traitors in government.

  10. Tennesse is the only jurisdiction with that requirement that I know of. Besides that, it just passed.

Carpertbagging has a long tradition, especially in the south. This is the establishment parties getting upset about what is going on and people encroaching on their terrirtory. Nothing more, norhing less.

One would think they would've done something about it a long time ago. The law if challenged won't stand and I bet neither of the parties will be the ones to challenge it.

The people are the ones who should have the ultimate say in it come election day.

  11. The district is heavily democrat. Going back to 2000 dems have won the district by as much as 40 points.

There hasn't been a republican elected in the 5th disrict to Congress since 1875 .

The republicans have just gerrymandered the district and a Court challenge is expected. Lets see if they make any headway in 2022.

The least of their problems in that district is Ortega, I'd be more worried about about the northerners who have moved in first.

As usual dems circle their wagons, repubics start shooting each other.
