Newsom wants tax rebate, touts ‘California Way’ of governing in State of the State address

California Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed sending money back to taxpayers to offset record-high gas prices but rejected calls to increase oil drilling, saying he wants to free the state “once and for all from the grasp of petro-dictators.”

The average price for a gallon of gas in California is the nation’s highest at $5.44, according to AAA — a number that is likely to increase after President Joe Biden banned Russian oil imports on Tuesday in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

  2. I would suggest the gas and oil companies stop deliveries to states like this and start work to mothball their refineries. Fuckers don't want oil, make their utopia come true.
And yes, I realize the refineries in Cali supply products to the rest of the country, but they might be able to increase production in other locations and with the Cali demand gone, it might not be that bad.
I don't think they would even have to go all in, just stopping sales to Cali gas stations would be enough.
I also think they should start the same process in my home state of WA. Once shit shuts down for lack of fuel, the local govs would have to reverse action or face riots by a majority of the locals.

  3. Classic political theatre. Steal a ton of your money...pocket a hefty percentage of it then send some of it back....and spout the off how great they treat their constituents.

    1. Gavie likes these money giveaways and times them just before elections. That's when he passed out 'Covid relief' money. It was just before his recall vote. And the low IQ, low info bozos fall for it every time.
