I'm gonna side with the car driver on #9. Dimwit on the bike was on the centerline AND pulled was past stop bar. Then sat there as the car pulled towards him.
Not that the car couldn't have easily avoided him rather than deliberately steer into him. Cycle appeared to be stationary. First rule of the road is avoid the accident if at all possible.
Sure, the car is at fault to some extent. The biker is an ass hugging the center line and pulling way the hell past the line. Do one or the other, not both. His violence against the driver should get him the King treatment. If the driver pulled a concealed carry a d shit his ass, I would still side with the driver.
That was my first thought too. I drive a big truck that takes 43' to turn around and on some roads that couple of feet is everything. Pisses me off about as much as the person that has 16 pumps to use and chooses the only one that has diesel. Cock knockers, so damn stupid they don't know if they rode the bus or brung their lunch.
#9 is at the minimum partially the bikes fault, they were out past the line you are supposed to stop behind... But the car shouldn't have hit them in any case....
The guy in #8 must be new to that. He didn't leave any gaps as safeties to prevent the whole thing from going down while still under construction. Also, how did he expect to keep from destroying it himself when finished and being stuck in the center, assuming it wasn't supposed to be started from the center.
Clearly 9 is all on the bike. The driver of the car was A pillar blind. If you don't realize that your are invisible on a bike then you should stick to walking.
#1 What a dick. I hope he had to pay for his bullshit.
#6 I did the exact same thing a long time ago in Philly. I cooked at a restaurant and the lot I parked at locked me in. Me and my 1973 Super Beetle had to get home. It was 3 am and I'm drunk and coked up, so I ripped the damn thing off. I'm glad it was pre-camera days.

ReplyDeleteStupid is supposed to hurt.
Looking at the trees to the right, it appears that you would have to go over the stop line in order to see that the road was clear.

ReplyDeleteIndeed. The bike wasn't moving and still the driver hit it.
DeleteThese Daily Darwin contestants always make my day.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if the cyclist in #2 is intoxicated. Otherwise his bike handling skills are terrible.
ReplyDelete#5 is going to have a bad day when he wakes up with a moderate to serious concussion. And then finds that dash cam. Hehe.
