  1. We found a black floppy-eared bunny abandoned near our house last year. We thought it was a road kill untill we got close and saw him move. Poor thing was scared to death. We improvised a pen in the garage and gave him some lettuce and water or the night. good sign in the morning, he had eaten the lettuce and was looking for more. We took him to the nearby Charleston Animal Society No-Kill shelter, and turned him over to the vet. He was adopted in less than a week.

    1. Iceberg lettuce can give them the runs and is bad for them.

  2. I rather like rabbit. Tasty. I'm looking forward to the post-easter season this year. Just need to remember to post an ad and check the local shelters in the following weeks.

    1. What do you do with the skins? I'm thinking of a rabbit fur duster.

  3. I've been feeding the local cotton tails. I throw wild bird seed out on the lawn after dark. I'm thinking I might need them for food at some point the way things are going. There's a big fat woodchuck that's on my list too. Always amazed at the kinds of wild life that show up on the edge of a fairly large city.
