These Are the European Countries Most at Risk of Diesel Shortages

There’s growing anxiety that Europe might run out of diesel following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The continent only has about 40 days supply of the crucial fuel in its stockpiles.

Europe has historically taken about 20% of its imports from Russia. But European oil companies are shunning petroleum supplies from the country as the fighting spills into a second month, and instead are seeking shipments from as far afield as the Middle East, Asia and the U.S. Shell Plc, BP Plc and TotalEnergies SE are already restricting deliveries of the fuel in Germany.

  3. The house of cards is growing ever shakier. Once the power goes off regularly and the water tap runs dry it is game on. The imported diversity will step in with their advanced civilisational skillz.

  4. I still can't get over the hubris of these EU "leaders" that thought that making themselves dependent on Putin's good will was a good idea, all because some teenaged truant yelled at them.

Oh, we'll solve our dependence on fossil fuels and nuclear power by going green, they said. Another great decision, especially considering they'd have to virtually blanket the entirety of their countries with wind farms and solar panels to keep their economies running and their citizens from freezing to death in the dark.

Now add in that Putin says pay for Russian oil and nat. gas in gold or Rubles. Their response is to declare breach of contract, like that's going to sway Putin to change his mind. These dumb fooks STILL think they hold the cards by taking Putin to the World Court. Can't wait for the day Putin says "I've had enough. No gas or oil for you." In other words, fook off. Stronger message to follow.

This notion that has been bandied about lately that the Russian economy is dependent on supplying oil and gas to the EU is pure boolsheet. One of the first things Putin did when he came to power was to decree that Russia's economy was to be independent of trade with other nations. He did that by 2010. Since then, all of Russian foreign trade has been gravy. They've been using the trade surplus to buy gold, in addition to mining a crap of it on their own soil.

Now, with Ukraine, he's got a lock on world wheat. The bulk of world fertilizer supply comes from Russia and they're not shipping any this year, except maybe to China, Iran and the -stan's that Putin controls.

So who's got who by the short hairs?

  5. ...and just to add a little "I've got four aces with a king kicker", there's this via CFP:

PUTIN: All gas contracts with "unfriendly countries" must be paid in Rubles starting April 1st. Failure to pay in Rubles will result in the gas being shut off.

    2. It's not like Putin really had much choice. The little bitches that run the Euro countries, claiming breach of contract, but then saying, "Oh, US sanctions, so you can't have your money anyway. Pudding Pop says so, so, TeeHee."

  6. But the people of Europe assure me their electric vehicles will be okay once diesel is no longer available.

  7. Personally I think it's a shame we are going into summer with this going on, it would be a lot more fun if a couple of feet, meters or whatever, was falling when Putin closes the valve on those entitled assholes

  8. Guess those germans (ambassador for example) who laughed and smirked when Trump told them how fking STUPID they were to give billions$$ to, and depend upon Russia - THE nation NATO was created to defend against - for their energy supply...

That was 2018. 4 years later they'd be receiving our LNG IF they'd started working on the terminals.

Instead the germans worked on russia's pipeline Nord Stream. Fast forward to last month - germany announced no approval for the pipeline while starting work on 2 LNG terminals. 🙄

Wasted 4 years and billions, still costing the world today for their stupidity.
