Question: Do black folks bowl?
Yup. Lakeview Jackson is the dead woman.
ReplyDeleteApparently, they do

Shooting each other is entertainment to them.
ReplyDeleteOf course not, they shoot each other. It was a Fun Center after all.
ReplyDeleteYes, around here, the black folks bowl a LOT. And many are really good.
ReplyDeleteIt is a league thing, usually. Wed and Friday nights around here.
I see that you assumed this was a black on black incident. I also see that you were correct. Me too.
ReplyDeleteChuck E Cheese must gave been closed
ReplyDeleteSome stores have those smaller water melons that roll real good so yes, they bowl...

In the ATL blacks are 34% of the population and a high percentage of the "two or more race" 7.7% of the population.
ReplyDeleteOther statistics about metro Atlanta is that it was in the top 10 metro areas of CCW before the Constitutional Carry passed this month. Do you see a direct relationship between the two? You would if you were on Moreland Ave after dark and you were not black.
Gettin' uppity down there....
ReplyDeleteI went to Hotlanta in 1978...stayed in an Embassy Suites downtown very near some thing called The Underground. Walked up on a taxi stand and about 10 Brothas were passing around their pieces and discussing the merits of the calibers "This heah 44 mag will blow the mo fos right outta there shoes". I said whoa and went back to the hotel and hid under the bed.
ReplyDeleteMy next trip was to a convention in Chicago...damn. I wasnt getting combat pay so I quit that job.
"...very near [something] called [Underground Atlanta]."
DeleteBorn and raised in Atlanta so I FTFY ;)
Yeah, that was near the end of the place being a party zone because of the influx of sub-Saharan Nubian-Americans. Around 1990 or so the city refurbished it and touted it as a happening party spot at night and a family fun place during the day. Disney had a store in there. The Coca-Cola Museum was located next door.
It did okay through the Olympics in '96 then was abandoned by 99% of the white population of greater Atlanta for the same reason they did so in 1980.
For history buffs: Underground Atlanta is a small part of the original Atlanta streets located under Five Points, the center of Downtown Atlanta. As the railroads (the reason the city was founded) built more track they and the city built elevated railways. Eventually the areas beneath the elevated railways were filled in and became the surface streets seen today.
Underground Atlanta is one short section of the original Alabama Street and an adjacent area. There is a cast iron streetlamp there that has a hole in it from a cannonball fired during the Battle of Atlanta in 1864.
At the modern street level it can't be seen that the buildings along that section of Alabama Street have another story underground.
There's a lot of history in that area. The grunions are doing their best to eradicate it.
LOL By any other name, Stewart Avenue is what it is.
Delete"Metropolitan Parkway" is what the city renamed it in an attempt to upgrade the area's image.
It didn't work. The area's denizens refuse to upgrade their behavior.
