The vote was split 5-4 with some members pleading with the commission to move ahead with a clear definition of who would be eligible rather than studying the issue for months.

So here we have a State that sided with the Union during the War, and a State that had no slaves in it, yet they're wanting to take tax money from its residents who never owned any slaves to pay reparations to people that never were slaves.
I just gave myself a fucking headache trying to comprehend that.
And just how do you prove your ancestors were slaves? And if they were, how do you prove they were owned by Whites? What about Native Americans owned by other Native Americans? What about White slaves? There were some, maybe not as many as black slaves. They just opened not only a can of worms, but a whole fucking Maximus sized can.
ReplyDeleteThere were more whites enslaved than boacks.
DeleteI pay over HALF of my earned income in taxes which makes me a slave to the state.
ReplyDeleteI expect some MIGHTY reparations for my hard work as a slave to the state.
So, a poorly armed disorganised incompetent low intelligence minority is forever ratcheting up the grift and primitive violence on the most heavily armed population in the world, while claiming to be victims. Once the tipping point is reached the natural selection will be gruesome and quick. Cowboys and Indians at least had a little honour to it because the feather guys had a warrior culture. Cowboys and Simianites will be brutal. Note that there is only one race, the human race, but some of us have sunk lower than animals. I used to wonder how the red horseman of the Apocalypse would look....well, he is saddling up. Ethnos vs ethnos.

Good point K.
ReplyDeleteDid they factor in the history of democrats and slavery, blacks owning both white and black slaves or anything else?
ReplyDeleteThe last man to own a black slave in the USA was in fact black himself!
Oh the irony and hypocrisy.
As was the first legal slave owner

Get your popcorn...this is gonna be fun to watch. Per the article, the task force voted to "limit state compensation to the descendants of free and enslaved Black people who were in the U.S. in the 19th century." So, blacks in the US are unable to obtain an ID to vote right now yet they will be able to document their lineage to (or prior to) the 19th century? That is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThey will just dig up the same form of ID that they used to buy beer at age 10.
DeleteI was reading an article from one of the groups pushing for money for all blacks due to the fact it will be impossible for many to prove they are actually descendants. The reasons given were mostly factually correct...renaming, forced separations of family and other reasons.
DeleteI have often wondered how many of the 'African-Americans' are really from Africa and not some other country or even legal immigrants to this country at some point.
"I just gave myself a fucking headache trying to comprehend that."
ReplyDeleteOnly people with a mental disability comprehend this. You have to become a democrat first.
I will applaud them for at least considering who's a slave and who isn't.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what's the end date for this? If someone that is eligible for "reparations" has children and grand children, are they eligible ?
How far back do the reparations go? do they stop at the water's edge? If they do not. I am sure that my ancestors were held as slaves> Why can't I get reparations as well. Truth is almost EVERY culture held slaves at one time or another and were enslaved some time in the past. If they are going to pay for this BS then then pay at the rate of pay when the ancestor was enslaved and for no more than 87 years. Any time prior to that we were NOT a country and since taxpayers are going to foot the bill we should have a say in who gets what and how much.
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout reparations for all of us White people of Irish ancestry who were "indentured servants" (i.e. slaves) back in the day? I mean, if it's "ridiculous time" then why not?
ReplyDeleteVery few Irish indentured servants were brought to North America. Most went to the Caribbean. Large numbers of Irish convicts and POWs were sent to the Caribbean as well.
DeleteNo, indentured servants were not slaves.
Most Irish, as opposed to Scots Irish, got here in the late 1840s and early 1850s as a result of the potato famine. We only had roughly 8000 Irish in the US in 1790 out of a population of roughly 4 million.
If anyone deserves reparations, it is those of use descended from the British Protestants who founded this country. We had our country stolen by immigrants.
If they want reparations, they should go all the way back to the people that originally sold them into slaves.
ReplyDeleteBlacks in Africa.
Damned assholes have been living off of welfare money for 3 decades. That is all the 'reparations' money that should be paid out. WELFARE for blacks IS reparations.
ReplyDeleteSix decades. 3 decades only takes us back to 1990. The "Great Society" under LBJ (may he burn in hell) is when the welfare state exploded.
DeleteHey Whitey living in California, bend over again for the one-eyed black snake
ReplyDeleteThere are several issues with this...
ReplyDeleteHow can you tell a person is black? That seems to be a stereotype you grow up with. There needs to be a repeatable process for saying someone is black.
1. The democrat basis for no voter id is that blacks are too dumb to get an ID. How are you going to tell if their relatives were in the US in the 1800s if you dont who they are.
2. At what point does ones skin tone go from black to white. Is there going to be a scanner that can be applied to some part of the body that says you are black. If the scanner says you are 70% black, do you get partial reparations.
3. What about the white democrats who hate themselves for being white. Can they identify as being black. Can they dye their skin.
How about paying reparations to all the people that fought the war on the union side? All the ones that were maimed or even died pay their descendants.
ReplyDeleteWell , since there were No slaves in California I would think nobody qualifies .If reparations were in order would the descendants of those who owned slaves be the ones on the hook? My family never held any slaves why should any of my money pay for it?
ReplyDeleteThis creates an interesting juxtaposition regarding America's first 'black' female vice-president. Since her grandfather owned slaves, will she have to pay herself reparations?
ReplyDeleteEnquiring minds want to know.
When the checks are cut you will want to be the guy selling ugly clothes, big rims for the cars etc. that money will be spent on the stupidest crap as soon as it gets to those people.
