#5 It isn't but that reminded me of the confidence course on Parris Island. I think the rope started at something like 40'. Ya started on your belly then half way switched to under the rope. Maybe head first then a switch to feet first. I saw quite a few fall. Under the rope was about 2 or 3' of nasty water and had to be 6' of mud. I saw Boots get caught talking on the start platform. Lt. called them to attention and forward march. This was 68. I wonder if they can do shit like that today. I hope so, it sure taught you ta keep your fuckin mouth shut.
They probably did until the ladies and transexuals said it hurt their feelings... We can't have any hurt feelings in the US military anymore, don't you know!!!
#10 - When they say "use a factor of safety" they mean "estimate how many electricians/plumbers will be compromising the integrity of the structure during and after construction".
I used a standard detail specifying location, maximum diameter, maximum quantity and minimum spacing for LVL holes. Had a project where the plumbers broke every rule, on every joist, on every floor. Then, of course, they wanted me to ask the municipal inspector to give us a "waiver", as if that would keep the building up. So happy to be retired.
Have you seen YouTuber Kentucky Ballistics shooting a Thompson Center Contender chambered in 500 Nitro Express. Elephant caliber handgun. He was complaining about his hand hurt after shooting it a dozen times.
Anyone know what that tool in #10 is?

DeleteHad a project where the electrician saved money on hangers by boring through the bottom chords of wood trusses.
