The White House’s Swift Surrender on Federal Mask Order Underscores the Tricky Politics of Mask Mandates

The Biden administration announced Monday it will no longer enforce a federal mask mandate on public transportation, including airplanes. The decision was announced after Federal Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle ruled that the directive was unlawful, noting that the CDC had not sought public comment prior to its order—issued 14 months ago—and did not adequately explain its reasoning.

  1. they said they are deferring to agency, like CDC, to determine if will appeal... and see... https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/04/21/fauci-on-federal-mask-mandate-laws-and-courts-have-no-right-to-impede-on-cdc-science-and-regulations/

  2. WTH took 24 months for this to be adjudicated? This mandate should have had a stay, pending litigation, issued the day after the order was issued and the expedited through the courts with trial no later than 30 days after the order.

Some Republican, if you can find one with a backbone that isn't afraid of the Demonrat mob on Twatter and every other Demonrat backing news outlet, should been suing the shit out the CDC on day 2 of the order.

Here it is, more than 2 years later and a judge finally acts when the issue is moot.

'Course Fraudci had to chime to chime in with "I don't think courts should be determining public health policy", like he's a trustworthy authority.

  3. This is far from over; they can't let this go and a lot of colleges and some cities are already bringing back the mandates. And it looks like the Feds are going to appeal the ruling as well. We'll see who's got a backbone...although we already know the answer, don't we?
