Lo, There do I see my Father Lo, There do I see my Mother and My Brothers and my Sisters Lo, There do I see the line of my people back to the beginning Lo, They do call to me They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla Where thine enemies have been vanquished Where the brave shall live Forever Nor shall we mourn but rejoice for those that have died the glorious death.
Cpl.David B. Milano may well have checked my dad in at the Pearly Gates in 1992. There is sadness and there is joy. Pop was Air Force and flew a B26 Invader over Korea for two tours. He spoke of how hard it was to get close air support in to Chosin Reservoir because of the weather. But planes got in . He was among them. I read that Chesty Puller said the AF wasn't there except to deliver mail so I asked Pop about it. He got that look in his eye and replied (like Ralph Machio in My cousin Vinnie 'I shot the sherrif'?) But he said, "I wasn't there?" "I wasn't there?"...and clutching his clasped hands to chest said, "oh thank God!". And walked away.

Just shy of his 18th birthday. Rest easy, soldier.
