Oklahoma? My first thought was a meth lab explosion

CLINTON, Okla. (KFOR) – A Clinton home explosion killed two people early Tuesday morning, leaving families in mourning as an investigation is ongoing to find out the cause of it.

“He was more than a cousin, he was my best friend,” said Steven Penner, one of the victim’s cousins. “I loved him like a brother.”

But given the total destruction in the picture, I'm guessing a gas leak.

  1. Holy crap. My cousin in Georgia blew up his house because he was stoopid enough to build the still in the kitchen. Took a nap and blew the walls out with the roof landing in almost one piece a couple hundred feet away. Yes, he lived, but the family will never let him live it down.

  2. blacks stole a stove out of a house behind the house I was visiting. They took the stove but didnt turn off the gas. I heard a dull 'thump' when the walls laid out and the roof fell in when the house filled with gas and exploded

  3. Looks like the back side of the dryer is exploded outwards.

    1. Yep, quick glance at the title and my schadenfreude started tingling, but nope.

  5. It looks likely that a leak filled the house with gas overnight and when someone got up in the morning a flipped a light switch it kaboomed.

    "He/she was my best friend."
Really? You always get at least one person saying this anytime somebody dies. Even if it's your mom or dad. Really? Your mom is your best friend?

    1. My dad was my best friend the last 20 years he was alive. We fished and hunted together, we drank together and hung out with each other even if was just an afternoon watching bull riding or the drags.

    2. Mine too Wirecutter. Didn't actually acknowledge it as such but that was essentially what he was. My fishing/hunting buddy all my life. Taught me a lot and I didn't even realize I was being taught. Just having fun. Miss him large time.

  7. Now had it been in Eastern OK it most likely would've been a meth lab.
