A local resident said that the dog had a note with her explaining that the owners could not take care of her anymore, KTLA sister station WFRV reported.
The note also mentioned that the dog’s name was “Baby Girl.” In addition to the note, a backpack containing food, treats and toys was left with the dog.

I can only imagine what that dog was feeling like wondering when her owner was coming back.
I've heard a bit about this , and I feel bad for all involved. If you have a dog that you love and because of some unforeseen bad luck you are unable to take care of it and you have to give it up, that has to hurt . they went about finding a new home for the poor dog a new home in a foolish manner leaving the dogs fate to whoever walks past is crazy. The Dog is so lucky someone decent found it instead of some looser who would do who knows what .too bad it ended up at the dog pound but with all the publicity it'll have a new home by tuesday
ReplyDeleteThere's the bottom line on chickenshit. Perfect example of a worthless human. How would you like to have him/her/it in your foxhole? Another ride in the desert, leaving that mofo tied to a Juniper tree. See how it feels to be abandoned.
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t imagine doing that. My big Al has become crippled even so I still load him in my van for the work day. Great Danes will never leave you to suffer alone.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what a putz the "owner" was...I have taken in strays/etc for 20+ years here and know that once that pup gets to the right place they will have completely forgotten any abandonment issues
ReplyDelete- abuse...not so much...
There's always -'something' baked in...dealing with one of those the last few years - sent our way by a shelter in another state and he's been an excellent chill little boy - even years on after hurricane Hugo
Getting them in to the pack and letting them know what's expected is ALL a dog wants
Very hard to describe to someone who wants a purse-pooch...
Till death, then the rainbow bridge I pray.
ReplyDelete"The So Called Owners" are a -deleted 5000 highly obscene word rant - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it was a flat coat retriever then the only issue was who is going to throw the toy.
ReplyDeleteThe "owners" need taken to a remote area and tied to a tree. Oh, with a bag of treats and snacks too.

I love critters. I feel great sorrow for the pup. However, what's this shit about making a surrender appointment? In an emergency they will do a surrender, if necessary? How fucking big of them. Assholes and their fucking rules I don't like at all. If someone wants to surrender a dog they ought to be able to walk in set the crate down and say I can't keep this pup please find it a home and split. I'd never give up a critter but I can see people not using the shelter if they have to go through a bunch a bullshit.
ReplyDeleteSome people I swear...
ReplyDeleteLow-Lifes across the street moved away, abandoning their pet cat.
This naturally resulted in an overabundance of feral kittens in the neighborhood. With the assistance of the local Vet. clinic, we were able to round them up. (JIT- we avoided the second wave.)
Had them "fixed" and inoculated and found them homes.
"The resident sat with the dog for an hour " There may still be some decent humans.
ReplyDeleteBright Eyes: An appointment is better than just dumping Fluffy at an agency than has no place to care for him. I called FIVE agencies before reluctantly surrendering my late Mother's cat to the county facility; they were compassionate and understanding. I was a basket case and have felt less grief over the deaths of some humans I have known.
=TW= Good for you!
Traveling down a very rural part of I95 up here in North Maine I came across a Pitbull 10 miles away from any exit, with nothing but trees around for miles.
ReplyDeleteI'd have missed it but for a blanket hanging on a guardrail that caught my attention.
When I backed up to check it out, over near the treeline was another pitbull dead.
I'm not a big fan of pits, but anyone that would abandon a dog out where it could get run over as the dead one obviously had should be put in a cage with a pit and left there until the dog got hungry enough to eat their fkng face.
