I'll take a hard pass on that one

I like my food spicier than 99.9% of the people around around here and think nothing of munching on a chili as a snack, but I don't want whatever I'm eating to be so hot that it overpowers the food I'm eating.

  1. It ain’t the spicy in the neck hole at dinner time. It’s the spicy out the other end - on the toilet the next morning that you remember.

    1. Yea but it's great for sterilizing and cauterizing bleeding hemorrhoids.

  2. I'm generally not into food products that incorporate fecal references.

    1. Well it all comes out as fecal matter no matter how good it tastes.

  4. Hottest I've ever eaten was Dave's Insanity about 25 years ago. 3 drops on my rice and beans had me on my hands and knees dragging my tongue on the rug.

    1. Dave's IS extremely good when used sparingly. I bottle, used 1 or 2 drops at a time, has lasted well over a decade, and it's still going strong! I think there's about a third of it left. 1 or 2 drops doesn't destroy the food's taste, but that's my limit.

    2. Dave's isn't near as hot as the sauce I make from Carolina Reaper peppers. So says people that have tried both.

  5. I actually have this and yes, it does mask the taste of the food you're eating and why someone would like a product that does that I'll never know. And heartburn after. Good Gosh.

    1. I think that sauce was invented to cover the taste of a Vegamite sandwich.

  6. Anybody out there a fan of horseradish sauce?

    1. Love both straight horseradish as well as horseradish sauce. There's depths of differences between the two but both are phenomenal. The straight stuff is a great sinus clearer. Wasabi too.

    2. Thanks, Guys.
I'm surprised I never see it mentioned when the subject of spicey stuff comes up.

For something different, try Pickapeppa Sauce. Not very hot, but totally different from other hot sauces. https://www.pickapeppa.com/foods/pickapeppa-sauce-5-oz

  9. Some years ago, I put together a modest collection of hot sauce bottles. For the labels; I've no intention of opening any unless I got two of any of them. My favorite labels are Bad Girls in Heat, and Fifi's Nasty Little Secret. Now I want one of those Aussie bottles too.
One time at work, I stepped into the break room and my Bolivian friend and another friend were eating pickled jalapenos, and I snarked "You eat enough of those and they'll burn at both ends." Their only reply was "And your point is???"
