A preacher and his wife wearing $400k worth of jewelry.....

A flashy Brooklyn bishop was robbed in the middle of his livestreamed service Sunday when gun-toting crooks accosted him at the podium before fleeing with $400,000 in jewelry, cops said.

Rolls-Royce-driving Bishop Lamor Whitehead last made news in May, when he tried to negotiate the surrender of an accused subway shooter but authorities separately nabbed the suspect.

I bet he preaches about the importance of tithing at least once a month.

  1. Those weekly collections 'for the poor' are clearly paying off.

  2. This guy had been convicted of fraud in a Two Million dollar scheme. After he got out, he organized an online business he called a church. He made himself a Bishop in his new religion. He's a scam artist through and through.

  3. Yep, and he is the only one who has the truth. So tithe a lot. Wonder what their home looks like. Yep.

    1. And then there was Creflo Dollar, asking his followers to send him money so he could buy a new Gulfstream jet to better spread God's word.

    2. Then there was Jessie du Plantis, that needed a Gulfstream for the same reason, only fancier. This meant he wouldn't have to rub elbows with The Unwashed in a commercial jet.

  7. Too many believe they can buy salvation and are suckered into sending cash to these thieves. Hope this dude spends eternity where it’s hot.

    1. "Buying" salvation is as old as organized religion itself. Just comes in different forms depending on what religious group you're looking at.

  8. My guess is, he's under investigation for fraud and they're closing in - and it's happened often enough to where he can predict events. Insurance fraud, or 'laundering by robbery'.

    1. Yeah, I'm gonna say the max value was about $1000, and no more. I've worked with some black dudes who were "preachers" as a side hustle, and that's exactly what it was, a hustle. I'd say 90% of black rev'runs are scammers and grifters. Of course, White preachers are 2nd at about 60-65%.

  10. A Bishop being robbed of jewelry worth that much shows that there's a LOT more larceny than just what the thugs perpetrated.

  11. Black Brooklyn version of Jim and Tammy Faye, or Joel Holstein and his lovely money grubbing skank, Oral Roberts, Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Robert Schuller, and Jessy Duplantis.

  12. Seems to me the crooks were the most fully converted people in the room to this Bishop's brand of gospel

  13. Jesus said wealth won't get you to Heaven. He mean't it.
