California now assuming gun shop owners are mind readers and opens them up for lawsuits

Gun makers and dealers in California will be required to block firearms sales to anyone they have “reasonable cause to believe is at substantial risk” of using a gun illegally or of harming themselves or others, under a new law that Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that he had signed.

    1. Beat me to it. That was the first thing that came into my mind.
(Okay, second. I was making a guess as to what kind of people were behind this nonsense. Always with the nonsense.)

    2. It's laughable to think gangbangers buy arms through an FFL dealer, guys.
There's shit they have access to through our porous borders that would make you sick.
So the NICS check is unreliable?
      Why have it then?

  3. You notice they did the same thing with hunting in a lot of states; Made it such a pain in the ass/expensive to buy a lease, enter a lottery, and all the other bullshit involved, that many just say fuck it, it ain't worth the trouble.
Abd if you want a license in another state, holee fuck you will pay dearly for it.

  4. In my years of hanging out around gun counters, every thing from big boxes to mom and pops, I can't count the number of times I have seen a clerk say "I do no feel comfortable making this sale." and turning away the customer.
Every thing from obvious BF/GF straw purchases to a nut talking crazy as he looks at a firearm. The last one was a black guy talking about how many people he could cap with a hi-point carbine. That guy ended up arrested two days later for shooting a couple people.

  5. The law is unconstitutional on its face. No one an determine the mind of another. There have been a few good guesses, but to base it on one thing that gives a st5rong indication of what might happen is the melanin content of the buyer's skin.
